Heart Health Month

February is known as Heart Health Month.  In both men and women, heart disease is the leading cause of death. There are many ways to make sure you are making heart-healthy choices. You make these choices by; knowing your family health history and the risks for heart disease, and by having regular check-ups and working with your doctor to manage your health. There are many ways to spread awareness. This year, as in past years, Bishop McCort has helped spread awareness by selling t-shirts. We have been doing this fundraiser for a couple years now. Last year we raised 1000 dollars, and donated that to the American Heart Association. One other way to help spread awareness is to wear red on the first Friday in February. This is designated to encourage men and women to wear red and show their support for women’s heart health. Heart Health Awareness Thumbnail Image
