Conner Hagins, a senior at Bishop McCort, received the Social Studies Future Leader award on October 17th during the 61st Pennsylvania Council for the Social Studies (PCSS) annual conference.

The Social Studies Future Leader award recognizes a student that demonstrates positive citizenship or a passion for social studies, according to the council.

Conner Hagins received the medal for the tens of thousands of toys he has donated to children’s hospitals and non-profit agencies through his “Cuddles for Kids” organization, which he started in 2006.

Conner said, about the accomplishment, “I’m honored to be able to win the award. I’m only the fourth person to win it in this area.”
