A bus crash in Canada’s Saskatchewan province took place last Friday. Fifteen people were killed and at least 14 others were injured. Ten Humboldt Broncos players and five others, including two coaches, died. The hockey community and others supported the victims and their families after the news of the crash with efforts such as the creation of a GoFundMe page. By Sunday the page had raised more than $4 million with almost 60,000 donations. Many of the donations came from the hockey community. NHL teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Pittsburgh Penguins gave money, so did hockey equipment manufacturer Bauer Hockey. A campaign launched by a group of hockey moms in Langley, British Colmbia asked people show support for the victims by wearing hockey jerseys. They wanted to show their support to the families of Humboldt Broncos. With this being said, people are encouraged to wear a jersey on Thursday, April 12, 2018.
