All across the state on Saturday April 14, 2018, fishermen could be seen in the Pennsylvanian waterways in hopes of landing a lunker trout. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission have stocked hundreds of streams, lakes, and rivers in preparation for the first day. Several McCort students and faculty went fishing this past weekend, and we have stories from the anglers themselves.

Mr. Zatek- “I headed down to Chest Creek by Bradley Junction. Its nice water there. I caught 8 fish, pretty small in size. I used wax worms which seemed to produce pretty well.”

Ben Seidel- “I fished at Town Creek near Everett, PA. I caught 8 fish, with one being a nice 22 inch Palomino. I caught my fish using spinners. I’m looking forward in keeping my success going.”

Luke Tercek- “I fished the George B. Stevenson Dam and the First Fork Sinnemahoning Creek. Unfortunately I caught zero fish even though I fished all day Saturday and Sunday. I was using spinners and red worms.”

Devin Nau- “I went to my favorite spot at Bens Creek. I only caught two fish; however, I thought it would produce better. I was using a Prince Nymph fly. I’m going back this weekend to try again.”
